Shailoo Bedi appointed as new LTSI leader

Dr. Shailoo Bedi has been appointed as Executive Director, Division of Learning and Teaching Support and Innovation (LTSI), beginning July 1, 2022.
Shailoo has held various roles at UVic over the years, including her current role of Director for the Office of Student Academic Success, jointly reporting to the University Librarian and Executive Director of LTSI. She is an experienced administrator, instructor, facilitator and researcher with a strong commitment to justice, equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, reconciliation and decolonization. She is also an expert in instructional design with a strong commitment to incorporating anti-racist, trauma-informed and decolonizing practices in education and leadership.
An active community member, Shailoo serves on various committees at UVic, including the Board of Governors, and in the local community. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science from UBC and a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from UVic.
In order to support the transition, Dr. Laurene Sheilds has agreed to stay on as Executive Director of LTSI until June 30, 2022.
