You Bring The Food, We'll Waive The Fines

Help fill local food bank shelves instead of paying fines this holiday season. The University of Victoria’s Food for Fines food drive offers relief from library and parking fines in exchange for donations of food for the Mustard Seed Food Bank, UVic Student Society’s Food Bank and the UVic Family Centre.
UVic’s Campus Security Services (CSS) is offering a $5 reduction of parking ticket fines for a donation of one non-perishable food item. Bring your parking ticket and your food donation to CSS during regular office hours from Nov. 21 through Dec. 16.
UVic Libraries is discounting fines by $2 for a donation of one non-perishable food item, to a maximum of $20. Library users may also donate their library fine payments to the Mustard Seed when paying by cash, credit or cheque at McPherson Library or the Curriculum Library. UVic Libraries’ Food for Fines programs runs from Nov. 21 through Dec. 9.
