Chillin' for the food bank

UVic Associate Vice-President Human Resources Kane Kilbey plunged into the frigid waters of Victoria’s inner harbour Nov. 25 to raise funds for the annual Victoria Advanced Technology Council (VIATeC) Food Bank Challenge. He was joined by employees and executives from several other local companies, all of whom gathered donations from “friends” inside and outside their companies who were eager to see them get soaked in the frigid waters off Fisherman’s Wharf. A barbecue lunch fundraiser (with hot drinks) immediately followed outside the nearby offices of Contech Inc. The stunt raised more than $5,000 for the Mustard Seed Food Bank.
