Become Your Own Financial Guru

Weathering a recession and making smarter financial choices will be the first order of business for most of us in 2009. Learn how to meet the many challenges—such as balancing your personal budget or running a business - by attending continuing education courses at the University of Victoria.

Financial Planning Fundamentals. Learn the real details of personal or corporate financial statements and come to grips with the tools required for getting the details right. Consider taking this as a stand-alone course or as part of the Certified Financial Planner program.

Small Business Management. This 13-session course covers strategic planning, venture development, market research, business plans, finance, production management and organizational systems. Make sure you build a systematic framework for success, not just survival!

Business Ethics. Making use of short lectures, case studies and even several movies, this course explores the relations of a corporation with its stakeholders. Find out where social responsibility fits into the big picture.

These are just three of the many courses featured in the Business, Management and Technology Program section of the new Continuing Studies calendar, which is online now at www.continuingstudies.uvic.ca.  Printed copies are available at regional public libraries and recreation centres in the Victoria area. Register online at www.continuingstudies.uvic.ca by calling 250-472-4747, or in person at the Continuing Studies building on the UVic campus.
