UVic MBA Goes Global

MBA students looking for a comprehensive international business education will benefit from the global MBA being piloted by the University of Victoria faculty of business with partner universities in Taiwan and Austria. Students take first-year foundation courses in their home institutions, and then join with partner university students as a group to spend eight weeks in Taiwan, eight weeks at UVic, and eight weeks in Austria, making connections and learning how business is done in each of the world’s key economic regions. “Students in this program will gain a much deeper knowledge of the business climate and culture than they can get in the more traditional one-country exchange or two-week international study tour,” says business dean Ali Dastmalchian. Two UVic MBA students are registered in the pilot program and are currently studying at National Sun-Yat Sen University in Taiwan. The group arrives at UVic in September 2005 and begins their third term at Johannes Kepler University in Austria at the end of October 2006.
