Ecologist and philosopher are UVic's new Canada research chairs

The University of Victoria’s latest Canada Research Chairs, announced today, will examine how biodiversity is maintained in ecological communities and illuminate the enduring contributions of Aristotelian thought over the past 23 centuries.

Dr. Taneli Kukkonen, Canada Research Chair in the Aristotelian Tradition, is coming to UVic from the University of Helsinki in Finland. His tier-two chair provides $100,000 over five years in support of his research program, and is renewable once.

UVic already has 17 previously appointed Canada Research Chairs and is expected to receive 15 more.
