STUDENT ORGANIST KEYED FOR SUMMER COMPETITION, SCHOOL

UVic school of music organ student Robert Kwan is one of six finalists for the National Organ Playing Competition at the Canadian Organ Festival in Hamilton in July. The competition is coordinated by the Royal Canadian College of Organists.
In August, Kwan attends the Calgary International Summer Organ Academy, a renowned school limited to 18 participants from around the world.

Kwan, from Nelson, also plays at the St. John The Divine Church in Victoria.
He is "terrifically good, a brilliant player" says school of music organ professor, Dr. Erich Schwandt. [MM]
