Black History Month provides an important opportunity to explore and celebrate the historical and current contributions of Black Canadians. At UVic, we recognize the many achievements of Black faculty, staff and students. We also acknowledge that ongoing work is needed to support racial equity, diversity and inclusion.

UVic child care moves to $10/day

Some UVic families are now getting a break on their monthly expenses. The Province of British Columbia has announced that all University of Victoria child care centres have been approved to become $10 a Day ChildCareBC Centres starting this past December.

Legacy gift supports research

An unexpected and substantial legacy gift from the estate of renowned Calgarian and philanthropist Margaret (Marmie) Hess is supporting graduate and post-doctoral researchers at the University of Victoria across the sciences.
