New and returning deans

UVic welcomed several new deans in 2021, in human and social development, social sciences, engineering and computer science, graduate studies, and humanities—as well as an acting dean in law. Dean searches are currently underway in fine arts, education, and business, with new leadership expected in 2022.

New climate journalism professorship

Broad Street hotel project approved

A Chard Development hotel proposal featuring the historic Duck’s Building on properties to be leased from UVic Properties is proceeding after approval from Victoria City council.
