New podcast aims to break the stigma of dementia

“Call to Mind” is a new podcast series from UVic recorded by people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. Hosted and led by Debra Sheets, a nursing professor and researcher with the Institute on Aging and Lifelong Health, the series features intimate audio diaries and conversations about the rewards and challenges of caregiving, the impacts of isolation and finding joy by living in the present, and staying in love when everything else is changing.

Fossil fuel stocks reduced--new decarbonization target for portfolio

November 17, 2021 - Media release

The University of Victoria Foundation announced today that as of September 30, it no longer has holdings of companies in its equity portfolio involved in the extraction and processing of coal, oil or natural gas. Further, the foundation has also adopted a new responsible investment policy that sets a target to reduce the carbon intensity of all investments by 45 per cent by 2030.
