When you set up a NetLink ID or UVic email address, you are required to create a password. If you forget your password, you will be unable to access important UVic resources, such as My page, email, library accounts, and computing systems. Never share your password with anyone, ever, for any reason. If you think your password has been compromised, change your password immediately by visiting

New requirements for passwords

When you visit to update your password, you will be required to select a new password which is between 8 and 30 characters in length.  Passwords must contain characters from at least two of the following groups: lowercase letters, uppercase letters, digits, or special characters $ _ #.  See the password tips page for further information on creating more secure passwords.
