A major aspect of Shane Dodridge's MA research, in partnership with the Tŝilhqot’in National Government, is to identify and compile existing information about the place names of the Tŝilhqot’in First Nation, including previous inventories, spatial data, ethnographic data, and so on.

After compiling these separate sources into a dynamic inventory, Shane has been conducting interviews with Tŝilhqot’in knowledge keepers to fill in some spatial gaps, to record pronunciations, and to address some orthographic inconsistencies. The end result is expected to be a dataset that can be used to form the basis for an interactive web-atlas of Tŝilhqot’in cultural landscapes.
