In Memoriam: Tom Dingle

With great sadness we announce that UVic Chemistry Professor Emeritus Tom Dingle passed away on August 22nd. Tom was a computational chemist and worked in our department for 35 years (between 1967 – 2002). He was the coordinator of our first-year chemistry program for a long time and collaborated a lot with other Department members by providing support on computational chemistry. After his retirement, Tom continued to be an active supporter of the Chemistry Seminar program. He attended the seminars regularly and always joined the group that took the speaker out for lunch. Tom was an outstanding Department citizen and a great person. We will miss his stories and his sophisticated sense of humour.
