TA/Lab Instructor positions for Spring 2027

The number of positions is subject to funding availability, enrolment, and/or course cancellation.

Lab Instructors are required to attend all scheduled labs and weekly lab meetings in-person during the appointment term.  

One TA position corresponds to up to 98 hours of employment during the period January 6–April 30, 2027, at a rate of pay of $34.72 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay. The total hours per position over the appointment term vary by course – please review the postings below. The rate of pay is in accordance with the CUPE 4163 salary schedule for Senior Assistants. 

Total hours for TAs who teach multiple sections of the same course will not equal double or triple the hours of one section, as tasks like lap prep and attending lab meetings don’t increase relative to the number of lab sections being taught.

The closing date for applications is Wednesday, November 4, 2026.

Employment decisions are anticipated to begin in mid November; however, late applications will be considered until all positions are filled. Submitting an application does not ensure employment.

Appointments will be made in accordance with Article 13.02 (Appointment Procedures) and the TA Appendix of the CUPE 4163 Collective Agreement.
