Religion and culture

Victoria is home to a wide array of faith groups, places of worship, ethnic centres and ethno-cultural organizations.

UVic Multifaith Services

University of Victoria Multifaith Services is a culturally diverse community, with chaplains and representatives appointed by local faith communities. With a team that includes Bahà'í, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Wiccan appointees, their mission is to provide religious support and spiritual care for the students, faculty and staff at the University of Victoria.

Multifaith Services offers pastoral counselling, prayer and meditation groups, learning circles, religious education, retreats, and workshops on a variety of topics in order to support the faith development of the campus community. They also serve as a liaison between the campus and religious groups in the greater Victoria area.

Religious, ethnic and cultural groups in Victoria

Many ethnic and cultural groups and organizations can be contacted through the Intercultural Association of Greater Victoria, a unique non-profit organization that combines arts and social services to address the needs of immigrants and to promote the embracing of cultural diversity in the Victoria community. They offer services for newcomers as well as outreach and education in the community.

The City of Victoria also has a contact list for multicultural associations, and Dance Victoria is a great resource for finding ethno-cultural dance schools and clubs.
