Getting around Victoria
BC Transit
Whether you're commuting to work or exploring the city, one of the most affordable methods of traveling around Victoria is to use the Victoria Regional Transit System provided by BC Transit. BC Transit operates 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Their website lists all of the bus routes and schedules to help you plan your commute. They also have an excellent guide to reaching various destinations by bus. For cyclists, BC Transit also has many buses equipped with bike racks for those longer trips.
Cycling
Victoria is a great city to use your bicycle to travel; many major roads now have dedicated bicycle lanes to encourage bicycle traffic.
The BC Cycling Coalition (BCCC) is a registered non-profit society that represents the interests of cyclists provincially. Their main objective is to secure recognition of cyclists in policy and programs in order to increase the safety and comfort of—and participation in—transportational cycling. Their website has many useful links, from information on cycling safely in Victoria to government-enacted legislation designed to promote green transportation methods. The Greater Victoria Cycling Coalition is another organization that promotes safe commuting via bicycle, and provides more resources on helping you travel using a bicycle.
