Canada’s first CHIMA accredited Health Terminology Standards Certificate Program

UVic to offer Canada’s first CHIMA accredited Health Terminology Standards Certificate Program

A new graduate certificate program in Health Terminology Standards is being offered in fall 2018 at UVic’s School of Health Information Science in partnership with eHealth Ontario, Gevity Consulting and RKL Health Informatics. The program is intended to help meet national and international needs for best practices in controlled terminology used in the health industry. Classes will begin in September 2018 for this one-year, part-time, online program with a 2.5-day on-campus workshop (in Toronto, to be confirmed). The program has received a 2-year initial accreditation by the Canadian Health Information Management Association. Graduates of this program will be eligible to apply for CHIMA terminology certification.

Applications will be accepted until May 1, 2018.
