Xibiao Ye

Dr. Ye has over 15 years’ experience in population health and epidemiological research. His current research focuses on population health metrics and cancer epidemiology. He is Provincial Epidemiologist and the head of Population Health Surveillance and Epidemiology Unit, Office of the Provincial Health Officer, BC. His team uses administrative health databases and health survey data to assess population health status in BC. He is also a nil-salaried assistant professor with Department of Community Health Sciences, College of Medicine, University of Manitoba, where he leads several blood cancer epidemiology research grants as principal investigator. Previously he worked as an epidemiologist in Winnipeg and Ottawa.

Dr. Ye received his medical training and PhD in epidemiology and postdoctoral training at Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) in North Carolina, USA. His previous research focused on environmental and occupational epidemiology.
