Dr. Karl Stroetmann has over 20 years of experience in eHealth.  He is senior research fellow at empirica Communication and Technology Research in Bonn, Germany, where he established and helped to expand its eHealth division into one of the leading European centres in this field.  Dr. Stroetmann has provided services to European Commission (EC), European Parliament (EP), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. (OECD), World Health Organization (WHO), European Space Agency (ESA), industrial players, national governments, healthcare providers, and healthcare insurances.

His research and consulting interests are European, trans-Atlantic and global eHealth policies and implementation strategies, impact assessment and benefit-cost analyses, socio-economic aspects and business models, market validation and pilot applications in national and regional  health systems.

Dr. Stroetmann studied Business Administration, Economics and Law at universities in Muenster/Westphalia, Cologne, and Berlin. He received a Master’s of Business Administration from the Free University, Berlin, Germany.  A PhD in Business Administration and Economics was awarded by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.

He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine in London, UK.
