Aviv Shachak

Aviv Shachak is an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto where he is cross-appointed to the Institute of Health Policy, Management & Evaluation (Dalla Lana School of Public Health) and the Faculty of Information (iSchool). He is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at the School of Health Information Science at the University of Victoria. Prof. Shachak holds a B.Sc. degree in Life Sciences from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel, M.Sc. in Horticulture from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and a Ph.D. in Information Science from Bar-Ilan University, Israel. His research and teaching is mainly in the area of health informatics. It seeks to improve usage and help realize the potential benefits of information systems, especially in health care and biomedicine.
