Dr. Marcy Antonio is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Michigan’s School of Information. Health equity is central to all of Marcy’s research endeavours. Marcy brings an interdisciplinary lens in health informatics and public health in developing strategies that can address the complexity of structural inequities. She has built collaborations across policy, research and the community so that equitable strategies can be developed with populations who continue to experience unjust health outcomes.

Marcy’s brings methodological expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research, literature reviews, and patient-oriented participatory research has been established through multiple national and international studies. Her research has focused on patients portals, telehealth, patient-reported outcome measures, social determinants of health and aging with a life-limiting chronic disease. Her current research is focused on addressing inequitable health care access for low-income populations. 

Marcy has an interdisciplinary PhD from the University of Victoria which drew from Health Informatics and Nursing. She also holds a Master in Public Health (Informatics Stream) and a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (LATHE) from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Science from Simon Fraser University.
