Travel collections
University of Victoria Special Collections collects archival materials containing travelogues and photographs.
Materials that have been collected include: Boxer Rebellion photograph collection; Herbert Gedde's photographs of Japan from circa 1900; photographs and postcards from Africa, South East Asia, China, Japan, and Korea; and photographs from the late 19th century of the Canary Islands, South Africa, German East Africa, Zanzibar, Somalia, Aden, the Suez Canal, Pompeii, Italy and Switzerland.
