Gustavson commits to carbon offset projects recommended by students at annual pitch competition
December 12, 2019, Victoria, BC - The University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business continues its commitment to environmental and social responsibility by investing in carbon offset projects chosen by students for a second consecutive year. This investment will offset the school’s 2018 Scope 3 travel and commuting emissions.

Peter B. Gustavson School of Business rises in Corporate Knights Better World MBA Ranking
Nov. 08, 2019, Victoria, BC – The Peter B. Gustavson School of Business has been recognized for its global leadership in sustainable business education and risen in the annual Corporate Knights Better World ranking of MBA programs. Gustavson finished 13th globally, rising six spots from its 2018 ranking.
Masters of Global Business makes Financial Times’ ranking of the top 100 Masters in Management programs worldwide for third consecutive year
October 28, 2019, Victoria, BC – The Sardul S. Gill Graduate School at University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business has been named for the third year in a row to the top 100 Masters in Management Programs worldwide by Financial Times (FT) for its Master of Global Business (MGB) program. Only one of two North American schools listed to the Top 100, the school continues to climb on the program’s international mobility moving to 11th (up from 12th in 2018 and 40 in 2017).
Sardul S. Gill Graduate School programs receive high scores on diversity in QS World University Rankings
September 26, 2019, Victoria, BC – The Sardul S. Gill Graduate School at the University of Victoria’s Peter B. Gustavson School of Business earned high marks on diversity in the 2019 QS World University Rankings. The 2019 results are the third year running that the school has received praise for its diversity. This year, the QS World University Ranking diversity assessment scale scored the Masters of Global Business program at 75 and the MBA at 50.

The BC Indigenous Youth 3C Challenge receives $3.3 million in funds from Service Canada
Vancouver, BC – On June 12 2019, the BC Indigenous Youth 3C Challenge announced the commitment of $3.3 million from Service Canada. Co-developed by the BC Association of Aboriginal Friendship Centres (BCAAFC), the National Consortium for Indigenous Economic Development (NCIED), and the University of Victoria, Gustavson School of Business, the initiative is designed for Indigenous youth to discover business ownership while honouring their traditional values.
Gustavson Professor Receives United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education Award
June 2, 2019, Victoria, BC – Gustavson professor Heather Ranson was awarded the United Nations Principles for Responsible Management Education (UN PRME) Chapter North America Excellence Award in Teaching at the PRME’s regional conference in Cleveland, Ohio, on June 2. Ranson is an assistant teaching professor and the associate director of Gustavson’s Centre for Social and Sustainable Innovation.
Kidovate program fosters Victoria’s young entrepreneurs
May 30, 2019, Victoria, BC – Kidovate Victoria 2019, a youth entrepreneurship initiative created by the UVic’s Gustavson School of Business, was held on May 25 at The Bay Centre. Thirty young entrepreneurs ranging in age from 10 to 16 sold a variety of handcrafted items including animal “stuffies,” jewelry, greeting cards, plants, bath bombs, soap, cookies, snow cones and more.
