Admitted, what's next?

I've received an offer of admission - what do I do next?

  1. Pay your acceptance deposit
If you decide to accept your offer of admission, send the $200 acceptance deposit to Accounting Services as instructed in the Admission Summary section of your admission letter. Remember, the acceptance deposit is non-refundable and will be credited to your tuition account; it must be paid before you can register for courses. If you're paying by cheque, please include your student number and session on the front of your cheque.
  1. Sign up for a Netlink ID
Once you have been admitted and paid your deposit you can sign up for a UVic Netlink account. Your Netlink ID will give you access to MyPage where you will register for classes. Your registration date and time will only be available through MyPage, so make sure you've set up your Netlink ID well ahead of the course registration period.
  1. Apply for on-campus housing
If you want to live in residence and haven't already applied for on-campus housing, be sure to apply as soon as possible.
  1. Test your writing skills
All undergraduate students enrolled in a degree program at UVic are required to complete a 1.5 unit Academic Writing Requirement-designated course. Take the self-placement questionnaire to figure out which courses that meet this requirement are best suited to your level of proficiency in written English.
  1. Plan ahead
Review first year requirements from your program of study, and make sure you check our registration tutorials before you need to sign up for courses.  You can also get academic advice from our academic advisers to help you plan your degree and to ensure that you meet program requirements.
  1. Mark your calendar
Make a note of all the important dates and deadlines for your first term at UVic.  In particular, be sure to when tuition for first term courses is due (at the end of September) and when your course drop deadlines are, in case you want to make changes to your schedule.
  1. New Student Orientation
Every fall UVic offers a range of orientation programs to welcome incoming students to campus and introduce them to to the range of services and opportunities available to UVic students. It’s an easy way to connect with the campus community and make new friends.
