CANARIE invests in innovative software projects at UVic
CANARIE (Canda's Advanced Research and Innovation Network) has invested in two innovative software projects led by researchers in the Department of Physics and Astronomy. HEP Date-Intensize Distributed Cloud Computing, a project led by Dr. Randall Sobie, is a software platform that expands cloud computing functionality for the globally-distributed facilities supporting the ATLAS high energy physics (HEP) experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider. Software-as-a-Service for Big Data Analytics, a project led by Dr. Chris Pritchet, is a software platform for a 7-country/14-institution collaboration to explore the universe and simulate the origin of stars.
