UVic shares in excitement over Nobel Prize announcement

UVic was a founding member of the ATLAS collaboration, one of the two experiments at the CERN Large Hadron Collider (LHC) that provided experimental confirmation of the Higgs boson. UVic particle physicist, Dr. Michel Lefebvre, spoke about ATLAS' role in the the hunt for the Higgs boson at a UVic 50th Anniversary public lecture entitled "Subatomic Smash" this past spring.

A summary of Canada's role in the Higgs boson is available on the TRIUMF website
