Marine Biologist baptizes new vessel

Marine Biologist and Canada Research Chair in Deep Ocean Research Verena Tunnicliffe had the honour of being chosen as the civilian sponsor for the Canadian Coast Guard's newest vessel, the CCGS Sir John Franklin.

As per tradition, Tunnicliffe was present at the dedication to service ceremony and had the privilege of christening the vessel by breaking a champagne bottle against the hull.
