Flowering Plant Diversity (BIOL449/ES425)

This course surveys the range of variation in the flowering plants and explores how they have evolved and diversified over time. The laboratory component offers students an opportunity to gain practical skills in plant identification and in the assembly and documentation of plant collections. A collection of pressed plants is required for this course. Presses may be borrowed from the Herbarium for a fee of $20 ($5 rental plus $15 refundable deposit). For further information or to obtain a press, please contact the UVic herbarium herb@uvic.ca.
