About us

The Applied Control and Information Processing Laboratory (ACIPL) was originally founded in 2005 at the University of Saskatchewan, and was moved to the University of Victoria in 2009.

The research interests of ACIPL are centred around advanced control theories and their industrial applications, including model predictive control, robust control and filtering, system identification, adaptive control, and information processing. The developed results and techniques have been soundly implemented in networked control systems, multi-agent systems, autonomous vehicles, robotics, smart grid, and cyber-physical systems.

The ACIPL is equipped with the cutting-edge facility, e.g., Quanser Unmanned Flying Vehicles, Ground Mobile Robots, and Denso Open Architecture Robot.
