Music

Victoria has a lively music scene. The Victoria Entertainment Guide lists many nightclubs, cabarets, discos, and pubs and restaurants that host live performances, and LiveVictoria.com features an extensive listing of upcoming events and concerts.

Victoria Symphony

The Victoria Symphony is Vancouver Island's largest and most active performing arts organization. With over 50 performances in its season, spanning from September to May, the Victoria Symphony engages and inspires our community with high-quality concerts and educational and outreach programs including an annual presentation from Victoria harbor that is attended by more than 40,000 people each year.

Victoria Operatic Society

The Victoria Operatic Society has brought Broadway musicals and Gilbert and Sullivan operettas to Victoria since 1945. Productions have included The Music Man, West Side Story and Hello Dolly.

Pacific Opera Victoria

Pacific Opera Victoria (POV) has a nationwide reputation for fostering young Canadian talent, developing an eclectic repertoire, and building education and community programs. The POV offers study guides, student dress rehearsals, Opera in Schools performances, lobby lectures, and workshops. Most productions are staged at the Royal Theatre. Past productions include Mozart's Idomeneo, Puccini's Madama Butterfly, and Marc Blitzstein's Regina.

Dance

Dance Victoria

Dance Victoria pesents an annual dance series featuring acclaimed professional dance performers. Performances range from contemporary to classic and have included the Pacific Northwest Ballet, Toronto Dance Theatre, Daniel Leveille Danse, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre.

Ballet Victoria

Ballet Victoria presents dance productions from classical masterpieces, to new and innovative works created by Artistic Director Paul Destrooper. Recent productions have included Twilight Tango, Carmina Burana, and Cinderella.
