Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track)

The Department of Sociology invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. This position is anticipated to begin on July 1, 2014. The department seeks to hire in the general area of crime. The successful applicant will be willing and able to teach courses in deviance, crime, and the sociology of law. The successful applicant will also be willing and able to teach the Department’s required methods courses (qualitative and/or quantitative). Applicants are encouraged to explain how they envision contributing to course development in the sociological study of crime.
Requirements
A completed PhD in Sociology, or ABD status with an expected completion date no later than the start date of the position, is expected.
Applicants should include a covering letter, curriculum vitae, evidence of teaching ability, and at least one article-length sample of research. Applicants should also ask three referees to forward confidential letters on their behalf.
