Assistant Professor (Limited Term) in Geophysics

The School of Earth and Ocean Sciences at the University of Victoria invites applications for a Limited 3-year Term Assistant Professor position in Geophysics to begin on July 1, 2013 and which maybe renewable for two additional years (conditional on performance). Applicants are expected to be able to teach Introductory and Advanced courses in Geophysics and Tectonics. The position will be 60% teaching (typically 3 courses per year), 20% research and 20% service. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop an independent, externally funded research program that complements and advances the School's strengths in seismology and/or ocean acoustics, and enhances our links with the Geological Survey of Canada Pacific (Pacific Geoscience Centre).
A Ph.D. is required at the time of appointment.
