The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Victoria offers B.Eng., M.Eng., M.A.Sc. and Ph.D. programs. There are 24 faculty members including three Canada Research Chairs, over 120 graduate students and a large number of visiting researchers.  The Department is known for its strong, vibrant and well-funded research programs in a broad range of forefront areas of technology.   With an excellent collegial atmosphere and research excellence, the Department attracts outstanding faculty and staff, as well as superb graduate and undergraduate students. The Department of Mechanical Engineering, University of Victoria, invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor in Kinematics and Robotics. Research and teaching experience in biomedical engineering, mechatronics, and design is an asset. 

Requirements

Candidates for the position must have a PhD in mechanical engineering, or a closely related field, and must have demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in teaching, research, graduate student supervision, verbal and written communication, and collaboration with colleagues with engineering and non-engineering backgrounds. Candidates must be registered as a professional engineer, or be eligible for and committed to registration. The successful applicant will be expected to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, supervise graduate students, conduct research, obtain research funding, and participate in the academic affairs of the Department.
