Assistant Professor, Remote Sensing

The Department of Geography, University of Victoria, invites applicants for a tenure track position in the area of Remote Sensing. Preference will be given to candidates with a specialization in geomatics programming methodologies coupled with physical geography (hydrology, biogeography, geomorphology, climatology). The appointment, effecive July 1, 2014, will be made at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Teaching opportunities may include courses in remote sensing, programming for geomatics applications, surveying, hydrology, pedology, statistics, biogeography and other areas of geomatics and physical geography as appropriate.
The successful applicant will have a PhD (or be close to completion) in Geography, outstanding research potential, a dedication to teaching, and the ability to work synergistically both within the Department and in collaboration with other units on campus. They will contribute to a vibrant Department with extensive interests in remote sensing and physical geography at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
