Friday, March 6, 2015: Deans’ Lunchtime Lecture Series

John McLaren, Professor Emeritus, will give a lecture on “Judges Gone Wrong: Judicial Independence and Responsibility Past and Present”. There is no cost to attend this lecture but you must register online through the UVic’s Continuing Studies web site.

Revisit the law school in the company of your fellow alumni, colleagues, friends, and current and past professors. Clare Jennings (’06) and Kimberly Henders Miller (’99) will be back in court…moot court, that is. Robbie Sheffman (’91) and his band Blind Elmo will go head to head with a current student band. Hamar Foster and John McLaren will lead us in skit nite songs. See photos and hijinks from across the ages, the beautifully renovated Diana M. Priestly Law Library, and the yet-to-be-renovated Moot Court (but that’s just to remind you what the place was like).

Join Anne Fraser (widow of founding Dean Murray Fraser – and heart and soul of the law school), Andrew Petter (‘81), Ron Skolrood (’86), Mila Shah (’12), Bill Neilson, and others, for an afternoon of stories of UVic Law from across the years. Our own Laura Lynch (’88), CBC reporter and UVic alumna, will guide the discussion.
