The Middle Ages are sometimes idealized as a time of sophisticated romance and chivalry. More often, the medieval period is regarded as a dark time. Reality is far more complex. Study a range of extraordinary and influential artistic, intellectual, and social achievements.

We acknowledge and respect the lək̓ʷəŋən peoples on whose traditional territory the university stands and the Songhees, Esquimalt and W̱SÁNEĆ peoples whose historical relationships with the land continue to this day.
