DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Please note that duties may vary due to specific needs of instruction in person and/or online. Duties may include some or all of the following:

• holding scheduled office hours online to assist students with problems
• assisting instructor with transition of course content to online formats
• posting course content to BrightSpace
• managing chat forum online
• preparing exams and assignments
• grading course assignments and exams
• keeping accurate records of grades
• online exam invigilation
• attending lectures and meetings with instructors

 SELECTION CRITERIA:

Appointment procedures are based on the guidelines of the CUPE 4163 Agreement.
Clearly delineate in your application responses to the following selection criteria:

1. qualifications and ability of the candidate(s) based on academic merit and related experience,
2. explain the career and/or pedagogical value that this position will provide to you as a student
3. clearly indicated in a ranked list your preferences for courses
4. indicate graduate student financial support being received
5. are you a Faculty of Humanities graduate student registered at UVIC
6. do you have a BA or minor in Gender or Women’s Studies or other demonstrated academic expertise in the field of Gender and Women’s Studies

All applications will be considered. However, priority will first be given to Faculty of Humanities graduate students registered at The University of Victoria with a BA or a minor in Gender or Women’s Studies, or other demonstrated academic expertise in the field of Gender and Women’s Studies.

All TAs must have a solid background in the related subject (unless specified otherwise). Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential.
