Equity & Outreach Course Union

Noah & Izzy are your E&O coordinators this year. Check out the Facebook group and Instagram page to find out about events!

The Equity and Outreach Committee is the equivalent of a course union, plus more. It's run by students for students, with support from the gender studies department. Two or three coordinators are hired each year with funds from UVic's work study program. Meetings and events are open to all students, and the committee often co-organizes events with UVic Student Society groups such as the Anti-Violence Project, Students of Colour Collective, Native Students' Union, UVic Pride and Third Space.

"The Equity and Outreach Committee is made up of a group of UVic students who are committed to issues of social justice. We are a feminist, anti-oppressive collective that relies on foundations of inclusivity and seeks to reduce marginalization related to class, colonization, ability, age, gender, race, body type and sexuality. Equity and Outreach exists to increase involvement, equity, diversity and community within the Gender Studies department by organizing and promoting political and social events on campus and in the community."
