HINF Open House - Fall 2024
Join us for the School of Health Information Science Fall 2024 Open House! With the current global changes and demands in health care, this is a dynamic and rapidly expanding field of study. Students interested in the life sciences, medicine, and/or information technology would be especially interested in our programs.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the amazing academic and career opportunities in digital health! Our knowledgeable faculty and staff will be able to tell you about the innovative projects our students are working on, see the latest technology in health care research, and learn about potential careers in the industry.
Health Information Science Open House

In our programs, students will benefit from small classes, internationally-renowned faculty members, a strong cohort experience, and hands-on paid work experience. They will learn how to help health care professionals utilize and optimize technological solutions within the health industry.
The School of Health Information Science offers a variety of programs:
Bachelor of Science in Health Information Science
Bachelor of Science Combined Major in Computer Science and Health Information Science
MSc in Health Informatics
Double Degree - MSc of Nursing and MSc of Health Informatics
PhD in Health Informatics
Certificate Health Terminology and Interoperability Standards Programs
The January 2025 entry point application deadline has been extended to October 31, 2024.
During our Open House event, everyone will receive a “passport” to guide themselves around the floor, collecting stamps at each location -- we will be opening up our 3 state-of-the-art labs with the latest health care technology to learn about hospital simulation, health monitoring at home, and our digital health space. We’ll also be opening some classrooms to showcase student projects, student leadership groups, co-op & career opportunities, as well as general admissions and program information. Staff, faculty, alumni, and current students will be around to talk about their academic journey and their experience with HINF at UVic. Once you have finished touring and collecting stamps, you will be able to enter your passport for a chance to win a HINF Swag Bag.
