Drew Wolfe-Fraser Memorial Scholarship

drew_wolfe-fraser.jpgDrew Wolfe-Fraser was born and raised in Penticton, BC. He was an outstanding student and friend, who graduated from Princess Margaret Secondary School in 2014. He planned on attending the University of Victoria that fall to pursue a degree in Engineering.

Drew was kind, driven, intelligent, witty and so loving. His skills and talents were limitless, and he was loved by many. Drew passed away two weeks before his move to Victoria, and is missed and remembered by a large part of the Princess Margaret Secondary and Penticton communities. Friends of Drew memorialized his hard work and passion for learning through this scholarship, and wish to help another student from Penticton afford the opportunity to attend UVic.

These friends would also like to use this opportunity to take a step in breaking the stigma around mental health struggles. Mental health is something essential that must be acknowledged. People from all walks of life struggle with mental health issues, such as depression and anxiety, and we must work together to eliminate the stigma surrounding these issues. If you, or anyone you know, struggle with mental health issues, please do not feel you need to bear the burden alone. Contact your local counselling services, mental health crisis line or crisis centre or reach out to a family member, friend or someone you trust.
