Graduate of 1976 Visual Arts Scholarship

Diane Styles is a 1976 University of Victoria graduate of fine arts in the discipline of visual arts. Diane moved to Toronto after graduating and studied at Ontario College of Art and Design. She practiced at Open Studio, an artist-run printmaking studio.

In 1981 Diane returned to the west coast and settled in Vancouver. Diane shifted her attention to education in personal computers leading to a career in bookkeeping for small businesses. She recently completed nine years as a director on the One to One Literacy Society, a children's literacy programme operating in British Columbia.

Diane continues to take art courses at Emily Carr University of Art and Design. Water colouring, drawing, the beginnings of a garden and learning how to cook with more flair have recently filled up her days. This scholarship was developed to help a student with a desire to study visual arts.
