Co-operative education programs
Put your learning in motion
At UVic, learning extends beyond the classroom. Our co-operative education program (co-op) lets you gain a year of relevant, paid work experience and a better chance of landing your dream job after graduation.
Through co-op, you’ll alternate terms in class with paid work terms in positions related to your field of study. Most co-op work terms are four months long, and you’ll usually complete three or four work terms during your degree. Co-op is collaborative—students, employers and the university all play a part.

Student experiences
Robin Parhar completed a co-op work term with a real estate and property management company in Duncan, BC.
Robin was able to gain great insights into this industry and learned that bringing enthusiasm and willingness each day to her job (which came naturally for her anyway!) were qualities highly valued by her employer. These qualities resulted in Robin exceeding her employer's expectations.
