James McRae Award in Rowing*

One or more awards are given to undergraduate or graduate students who compete in the Men’s or Women’s 8 Varsity Rowing team. Eligible students must meet all U SPORTS eligibility requirements. Award recipients will be selected on the basis of work ethic, commitment and performance criteria by the Director of Athletics and Recreation in consultation with the Varsity Head Coach and the Associate Director, Sport. Preference will be given to an all-round team player who may be studying economics.

Eligibility

Except where the terms and conditions of an athletic award, award, scholarship or prize specifically state otherwise, Varsity award winners must normally have passed a minimum of 9.0 units in the preceding academic year with a minimum sessional GPA of 3.0; if the terms of the award or scholarship are for non-varsity student-athletes, regular scholarship regulations apply, and students must have completed a minimum of 12 units in two terms in the previous academic year.

How to accept

To accept your scholarship offer:

  1. Have a NetLink ID
  2. Go to www.uvic.ca and sign into your UVic Online tools account using your NetLink ID
  3. Select "Student Services" on the top menu
  4. Select "Awards and financial aid" under "Finances"
  5. Select "View My Student Aid"
  6. Enter the Aid Year and Aid Period
  7. Select "Accept" on the scholarship(s) you have been offered
