Congratulations to Sanam Vaghefi - Best Student Paper Award (CSA)

One of our PhD students, Sanam Vaghefi, received the Best Student Paper Award from the Canadian Sociological Association (CSA)’s Mental Health Research Cluster for the paper entitled “Refugee Mental Health during the Asylum Waiting Process: A Qualitative Study of Turkish and Canadian Contexts.” This paper is based on her ongoing dissertation project about Iranian refugees' migration and health trajectories in Canada (supervised by Dr. Margaret Penning & Dr. Karen Kobayashi). Sanam will be presenting this award-winning paper at the upcoming CSA conference on May 19 (https://www.csa-scs.ca/conference/2022-conference-award-recipients/).
