Nareena Switlo

Nareena grew up in Vancouver, B.C. Her passion for learning about different cultures led her to a career in International Development. Nareena is an experienced project manager with a background in Anthropology. She has served as a program advisor and leadership facilitator focused on holistic approaches to development. She has worked with innovative organizations in Zanzibar, Kenya, Ghana, and India. Nareena is known for her funny and approachable style that allows her to engage people from all backgrounds. Her passions have led her to co-found Naledo, a social enterprise that aims to tackle some of our most pressing global issues. She loves to inspire youth to learn about the world and become global citizens. 

When I decided to study anthropology many of my friends joked that I would either end up like Indiana Jones or not use my degree at all. 

As an entrepreneur running an international business, I use my degree every day! Studying Anthropology taught me to think holistically, which has proven invaluable when trying to solve complex challenges that arise in our business. Our social enterprise has won awards for its business model, and was featured on Dragons' Den.
