The IACE mailing list is a central place to send and receive information relating to IACE and UVic programs and funding and employment opportunities. Anyone can subscribe, including students, staff, faculty and community members.

The Elders in Residence program is pleased to announce their newest Elder to the group! Please join us in welcoming Takohikena, Ann Rose Kerkovius. Her given Inuinnaqtun name is Takohikena. Born in an igloo on Kikkitaukyuk Island, she was delivered by her Granny. Despite facing challenges, including residential schools, Ann Rose pursued her dreams. She defied odds, earning a Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work after raising her family. Returning to Nunavut, she worked tirelessly for her community, embracing her heritage and language. An athlete, reader and dedicated volunteer, Ann Rose's story inspires us all.

The University of Victoria is inviting design submissions from local artists for the logo of the Office of the Vice-President Indigenous (OVPI), which has recently received the name Etalew̓txʷ | ÁTOL ÁUTW | Centre of respect for the rights of one another and all beings.

On May 4, 2022, leadership from the University of Victoria (UVic) and the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board (W̱SB) gathered on W̱SÁNEĆ territory for a signing ceremony for the renewal of the Collaboration Agreement 2022-2030.
Kundoqk (Dr. Jacquie Green) will become the next Executive Director of the Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement on August 1, 2022.
Elders in Residence are now available via Zoom and phone, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00am-2:00pm.
The Office of Indigenous Academic and Community Engagement has introduced a new process for booking Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
