Times Higher Education rankings
Physical sciences at the University of Victoria have been ranked 5th in Canada and 151-175 globally (up from 176-200 in 2020) in Times Higher Education (THE) 2021 rankings! Physical sciences comprises mathematics and statistics, physics and astronomy, chemistry, geology, environmental sciences, and earth and marine sciences.
Life Sciences (agriculture and forestry, biological sciences, veterinary science and sport science) remains steady at 301-400, while UVic as an institution also placed in the top 400 universities globally, moving up from being in the top 500 in 2020.
THE World University Rankings ranks more than 1,250 institutions across 86 countries, ranking research-intensive universities across teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation), international outlook (staff, students and research); citations (research influence); industry income (knowledge transfer).
