Nihilism.Hope Conference (April 22 - 24, 2016)

Nihilism.Hope

April 22 - 24, 2016

"We pose our theme, in short, thusly: we take the concepts of both ‘nihilism’ and ‘hope’ to be two fundamentally inseparable ideas rather than opposite, or exclusive entities. In a social context oft regarded as in a crisis of fundamental belief systems, assumptions, and identity itself (for better or worse), we aim to provide a nexus of thought for those interested in exploring this aforementioned world.

We aim to explore the complex and non-binary relationship between these two concepts, and welcome submissions across all disciplines and from all who wish to submit."

Keynote Speaker: Michael Truscello (Mount Royal University)

Organized by Galina Scolnic (MA, Sociology), Russell Elliott (MA, Sociology), and Tim Charlebois (MA, Political Science)

Accepting Proposals until February 29, 2016.
