Marie Müller

I studied German Studies and Art History at University of Cologne in Germany, where I received my BA in 2018 and my MA in 2022. I wrote both my theses about comics, and I plan to write my doctoral thesis on this topic as well. I am also very interested in new cultural theoretical tendencies such as Posthumanism and their connectivity with established theories like Postcolonial or Gender Studies, as well as their appearance in comics.

My other academic passion is the German language as such. I love academic writing and completed training as an academic writing consultant during my undergraduate studies, so I can now help students with their problems in this area on a professional basis.

In 2018, I spent a semester as Language Assistant at the German Department of the University of Southern Denmark, Odense, where I taught German classes and organized a “Deutsches Sprachcafé” as well as a German-Danish tandem program with many extracurricular activities. Back in Germany, I gave German tuition to young women with refugee experience, mainly from Syria.
