Melina Laboucan initiated a solar energy project in her home community of Little Buffalo. Actress and activist Jane Fonda helped sponsor Laboucan’s project while taking part in a March for Jobs, Justice and the Climate.
Students like Lindsay Brookes (Masters in Public Health) benefit from engaging online courses, on campus experiences and practicum placements that take learning beyond the classroom.
Indigenous Governance graduate student Erynne Gilpin’s SSHRC-funded Master's project with the Tsartlip Garden Project looked at Indigenous efforts toward food sovereignty and land-based education.
Health Information Science graduate students and researchers are constantly moving into new leading-edge research areas and also work with healthcare policy makers, governments and industry to affect positive changes to healthcare.
